Oh, and welcome to the forum. Tell us a little about yourself.
(my apologies if this was already discussed somewhere else.).
i noticed that the domain www.mt2414.com was taken, and when i tested it, it was a mirror of the log in portion of the www.jw.org site, where you can look up assemblies, kingdom halls, and make either one time or recurring donations.
so i created an account there (you can use fake form information as long as it's a real email address for email verification).
I tried mt2434.com but had no luck. I wonder why.

So Randy, would you like to tell us about your disfellowshippings?
Oh, and welcome to the forum.
within the past couple of days, women in nyc are going around topless in public.
i read in a news article, that in new york city, there are no laws against women going topless in public.the article says that family people are getting offended and they want to stop topless women in public.
in europe women show their breasts on on tv, the beach, and breast feeding in public.
just a thought here, prompted by oppostates thread on magazine money owed to the org..
if an average congregation coughs up $3500 per year just on mags alone... and there are 114,416 congs world-wide; that would mean that jw suckers are feeding the ravenous maw of the org by $400,456,000 (heading towards half a billion dollars) each year.
this does not include other literature, or ...money so cleverly pledged in perpetuity for khs that the punters will never own even if they pay for them and build them, not to mention the vast income from property appreciation and major stock investments... and then there is the shameless raiding of family inheritances plus other sundry monies gifted to them..
Half banana:
"...then there is the shameless raiding of family inheritances plus other sundry monies gifted to them."
Jesus to the Pharisees:
“You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ 11 But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— 12 then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother. 13 Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” - Mark 7:9-13 New International Version
take five minutes to learn something new today.... here is a very brief introduction to epigenetics with an interesting practical example.. ....
hi all, nothing to report just now.
wanted to add name to list of those awakening.
been lurking for nearly a year.
Welcome Je.suis. Hope you join in the excitement of JWC.
the cognitive dissonance amongst jws has never been more obvious to me then what i just experience in the last 5 min.
long story short i had a phone conversation w/my mom about some things and i mentioned to her to look up what has been going on with their beloved organization in australia.
brother geoffrey jackson of the holy governing body was caught lying numerous times about several subjects including disassociations & shunning.
something that has always been a pet peeve of mine- public prayers.
is that even scriptural?
i know many churches (along with the jws) do it.
"Jesus didn't condemn public prayer. Jesus himself prayed publicly on occasion such as when he raised up Lazarus. What Jesus condemned was praying publicly for the purpose of impressing others with your righteousness."
Jesus did not say "Don't pray hypocritically in public" he was emphasizing private prayer in order to prevent the mere appearance of hypocrisy.
"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." - Matthew 6:6 New International Version
1 Corinthians 14:16 referred to prayers made amongst believers.
As for Lazarus' resurrection Jesus would be the exception to his own rule. He was trying to impress others. Same thing would apply to his followers when working miracles in his name not just prayers in general.
